Every January, U.S. Figure Skating celebrates National Skating Month. This year’s festivities will kick off with “Caesars Tribute II: A Salute to the Ladies of the Ice” airing on NBC on Jan. 1st from 4-6 p.m. (ET).
The show features a cast that includes World and Olympic ladies champions. Peggy Fleming, the 1968 Olympic champion, is honored during the show which took place at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.
National Skating Month, hosted annually, is in its 10th year and is an opportunity for rinks and local skating programs to celebrate skating, invite members to perform and host activities that will attract new families to the wonderful world of skating. Through a series of organized on- and off-ice activities, National Skating Month hopes to show that everyone can have have a fun-filled day at the rink.
